Description

The Form Two Physics course strengthens the foundational concepts learned in Form One and introduces learners to the principles of motion, forces, pressure, heat, and light. Students develop essential scientific skills through virtual experiments, problem-solving, and interactive simulations, allowing them to understand how Physics explains real-life phenomena.

This virtual course promotes curiosity, analytical thinking, and creativity — empowering learners to relate Physics concepts to everyday technologies and the environment.

Benefits of the course

  • y the end of this course, students will be able to:
  • Describe and apply the laws of motion and concepts of force, mass, and weight.
  • Understand pressure in solids, liquids, and gases and their practical applications.
  • Investigate work, energy, and power, including simple machines.
  • Explain the thermal properties of matter, including expansion and transfer of heat.
  • Describe the behavior of light, including reflection, refraction, and formation of images.
  • Conduct and record results from virtual laboratory experiments safely.
  • Use mathematical relationships to solve real-life Physics problems.

Requirements

  • Stable internet connection and a device (smartphone, tablet, or laptop).
  • Calculator, ruler, pen, and notebook for numerical exercises.
  • Active participation in live and recorded classes.
  • Completion of all assigned tests, quizzes, and practical tasks.
  • Optional: home experiment materials (e.g., balloons, syringes, water bottles) for safe demonstrations.

Target Audience

  • Form Two students following the Kenyan (8-4-4 or CBC) curriculum online.
  • Homeschoolers and virtual learners pursuing secondary school Physics.
  • Tutors and teachers offering online Physics lessons or KCSE preparation.
  • Students preparing for advanced studies in science, technology, or engineering.

Materials included

  • Downloadable Physics notes aligned with the KICD syllabus.
  • Virtual laboratory simulations and interactive models.
  • Online quizzes, assignments, and KCSE-style questions.
  • Recorded video lessons and animated explanations.
  • Access to supplementary visual aids (charts, graphs, and diagrams).
